A Post About A Woman And Her Blog

The first time I wrote a blog was when we moved to the United States. I wanted family back home to stay up to date with our travels, a growing toddler and our lovely Molly – a then 4 year old Labrador. The title of that blog was Three Billy Goats And A Dog (if you want to know why the goat reference, I’ll explain in a future post perhaps). Well, we have been back in the UK for almost 4 years now, and whilst we gained another toddler – now grown to a full sized 5 year old, we sadly had to say goodbye to our dog.

It is always sad losing a pet, but it is heartbreaking when they have been so much more than that to you and your family. Molly was our fur-baby before our human babies came along, she was my husband’s best friend, my comfort and companion when he had to go overseas with work, and our children’s playmate. She will always be in our hearts and we love her dearly still.

This adorable stamp set HAPPY TAILS in the Spring/Summer Occasions Catalogue is just the ticket for anyone who loves their dogs, whether that is you yourself or the person you send a card to. I saw it and had so much fun thinking of Molly and the good times while I made this card.

It can be bought on it’s own or as a bundle with the coordinating Dog Builder Punch to create that perfect silhouette, and the sentiments are just right for an array of different occasions.

I used some DSP that has sadly just retired (Painted Seasons DSP – from Sale-a-Bration), but you can use our fabulous In Colours 2018-2020 DSP in Call Me Clover to add the same punch of pattern to your card. You could even make entirely different colour choices and put your own spin on it, this card can work many ways.

Don’t forget the inside of your card. This is the part that gives the recipient an extra cause to smile. Make it poignant, make it beautiful, make it cute, but never leave it blank. I couldn’t let that little punched out dog go to waste – so there it is wagging its tail on the inside.

Here are my measurements:

  • Pacific Point card base – 14.9cm x 10.5cm
  • Call Me Clover matt – 14.4cm x 10cm
  • DSP layer – 14.2cm x 9.8cm
  • Pacific Point banner – 10.5cm x 3.8cm – then punched with the Banner Triple Punch
  • Whisper White insert – 14.4cm x 10cm
